Our Core Domains
PalmX focuses on four intersecting domains that are shaping the future of science and technology. By grounding our work in these areas, we aim to bridge disciplines and foster meaningful research, collaboration, and innovation across Africa and beyond.
- Neuroscience. Understanding the brain to inspire new knowledge, therapies, and technologies that advance human wellbeing.
- Neurotechnology. Designing tools that interface with the nervous system to restore, enhance, or decode brain function.
- Robotics. Building intelligent, embodied systems that sense, move, and interact with the world in human-centred ways.
- Artificial Intelligence. Applying machine learning and cognitive models to develop systems that learn, adapt, and support human capabilities.
Presentations - PalmX Thursdays
PalmX Thursday is a weekly online series held every Thursday at 6 PM GMT (or 6:00 PM UTC your time), where researchers in neuroscience, AI, and robotics across Africa share their work, spark discussions, and connect with others. It’s a space for learning, collaboration, and building confidence through open presentations and community engagement.
5 minutes— Introduction
Brief introduction of the speaker and the topic. Set the context and outline the flow of the session.
35 minutes— Presentation
The speaker delivers their full presentation without interruptions. This allows for a smooth, uninterrupted explanation of their research or project.
20 minutes— Q&A and Discussion
After the presentation, the floor is opened for questions and discussion. The audience can seek clarifications, explore deeper ideas, and engage with the speaker in a relaxed, conversational style
